Skincare Routine 2018

I thought today I would share with you my updated skincare routine, as it has changed recently. Some products I am still trying out , but I wanted to share with you my favourite go-to product’s and ones I can’t live without. Also check out my youtube channel – hannahxoxoblog. I hope you enjoy!

Make Up Remover:
Day-to-day when I take my make up off at the end of the day I will use my Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I will pop some on a cotton pad and remove my make up, I don’t find it irritates my eyes like most make up removers do. I will then just cleanse and wash my face. It is definitely a must have product. Somedays when I’m not wearing as much make up only minimal I will remove my make up with some Simple make up wipes. Again, I don’t find they irritate my eyes at all and they are super gentle on my skin. When I am wearing lots of make up I will double cleanse my skin. I will start off my applying the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser to my face, breaking down all the make up, then taking a warm flannel and wiping away all my make up. To make sure my face is 100% clean I will just go over my face with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water on a cotton pad.

I do also use the Liz Earle Cleans & Polish as a cleanser as well. Day-to-day though I have recently been enjoying my Garnier Micellar Gel Wash just as a cleanser to wash my face. This product isn’t a must-have product but I do enjoy using it daily. I have been trying out a new face wash which is the Botanical All Bright Cleansing Foam Wash. I have only used this once so far but I did like it and will definitely continue to use it. I have heard good things for this brand as well.

Exfoliator and Face Mask’s:
These two I can’t find products that are perfect for my skin. Therefore, I haven’t got any must-have products for this category. I have recently bought this Botanical All Bright Purifying Face Scrub. I haven’t used this product as of yet but again I have heard good things about this brand and I love trying out new brand and products. I tend to exfoliate my skin 1-2 times a week depending on my skin and I like to use a face mask once a week, maybe even once every two weeks again depending on how my skin is. I like to use nourishing, moisturising face masks on my skin. I am currently trying out some sample I have which are from Garnier. I love to use sheet masks as well I find they work brilliantly on my skin, especially the Sephora sheet masks. When I feel my skin has a lot of blackheads and spotty I like to use my Black Peel Off Mask. A lot of people like to use these and I find they really dry out and spots I have and helps to get rid of any blackheads. I just got mine from Amazon as well.

Moisturiser’s, Eye Cream, Etc.:
There is one moisturiser I live by and I can’t live without which is the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturiser. I find it is lightweight and thin on my skin but still very moisturising on my skin. I 100% recommend. For eye cream I can’t find one I really love. I am currently using the Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment, I do really like it but I don’t find it’s a must have for me. I do definitely want to try out the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Eye Cream though as I have heard a lot of good things about it. I am also currently using a sample of the Aveda Botanicals Kinetics Energizing Eye Cream again I do really like it but not a must-have for me unfortunately. A spot cream that live by and that is a must-have is the La Roche Posay Effeclar Duo. It helps to bring any spots to the surface, reduce any redness and the size of the spot, and it also stops the spot leaving a mark on your skin. For my lips I will use a lip scrub when I cleanse my face, the lip scrub which I have been loving is the Lush Santa Baby Lip Scrub. It leaves my skin super soft and gets rid of any dryness on my lips. Before I go to bed I will also apply the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream to my lips as I find it really helps to moisturise my lips. The last and final product I am going to mention is Tea Tree Oil. An absolute must-have for me, anytime I have a really big spot I will put this on it and it really helps to reduce it.

January GlossyBox

This month’s Glossybox was super exciting. I received a £40 off Gousto and 10% off Zalando. In February’s GlossyBox they are collaborating with La Mer luxury skincare. Anyway, I will let you carry on reading. I hope you enjoy!

fullsizeoutput_2d0Nip+Fab Kale Fix Moisturiser:
I have used a little bit on the back of my hand and it feels really rich and moisturising. It does smell really good as well. I have heard of this brand before and definitely heard good things about it. So, I am very excited to start trying this out. On the information card it says ‘The moisturiser enriches skin and protects it against external aggressors, from pollution to stress, while concentrated aloe vera and shea butter help to soothe and smooth skin.’ The full size product retails for £19.95

fullsizeoutput_2d1The Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony Single Eyeshadow:
I have wanted to try out The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer for quite a while now. I have heard of this before and I have heard very good things about it. The information card says ‘In one of two seasonal aubergine hues, the velvety smooth texture, triple-milled formula and true colour payoff mean you can use it wet or dry. Matt(e) will never let you down.’ The retail price for the palette is £34

fullsizeoutput_2d3Unani Illuminate Milk Cleanser:
The concept of this is so weird. I have never heard of a milk cleanser before so I am very intrigued by it. The information card says ’This gentle cleansing milk is based on nutritious natural oils, which purify and protect your skin by removing impurities including makeup, leaving it soft and recharged.’ This is a full size product and retails for £14

fullsizeoutput_2d4Vitamasques Manuka Honey Face Mask:
I love face mask’s like this, they are perfect for travelling. I have heard of this brand before but I haven’t heard of this face mask before. The information card says ‘This Korean mask is made with extracts of nourishing manuka honey and the triple layer sheet technology – a Korean innovation – makes for unbeatable absorption.’ The retail price is £3.99 which I think is really good.

fullsizeoutput_2d5Hairon Zero Crease Hair Tie:
I have some of these already but from a different brand. I personally really like them and would definitely recommend them. The information card says ‘This metal-free, non-slip spiral design is ideal for securing hair without snagging or leaving kinks. Plus, it also doubles as a bracelet!’ The retail price is £3.99

I thought I would share with you what product’s I have used up over the last month or so. I always think you really know what you think of a product once you have used it all up. Therefore, these are the product’s I have used up and what I think of them.

Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes:- I love these make up wipes, I have repurchased them again and again. They don’t irritate my eyes at all and they work perfectly for me. Most make up wipes I am not a massive fan of but I do really like these and will keep repurchasing them. I do prefer to use these when I’m taking off waterproof mascara as well.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara:- Again, I absolutely love this mascara. This mascara gives great length and volume. It’s affordable and a great mascara. I would highly recommend this mascara and I already have a new one ready to use. This mascara is one of my favourite drugstore mascara’s.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water:- I have gone through so many of these bottles. I would definitely recommend the Garnier Micellar Water over the Simple one. This one doesn’t irritate my eyes at all and takes off my make up perfectly, it’s so easy. I do love the idea of a micellar water as well.

Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner:- I do really like this conditioner and I will defiantly be repurchasing it. Most conditioner’s I don’t really find they do much for my hair but after I use this conditioner I can feel a difference. I do also recommend the Dove Intensive Repair Hair Mask that they do, it is also really good.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder:- This powder is a matte powder so it’s perfect for some people but it’s not for everyone. When you hit pan with this powder you do have to be careful because I accidentally dropped it and it’s crumbled into loads of little bits and I can’t use all of it now. I may repurchase this but it’s not a definitely repurchase.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturiser:- I instantly fell in love with this moisturiser. It’s such a perfect day time moisturiser and feels so lovely and smooth on my skin. It’s not too heavy either which I really like. I can definitely tell the difference in my skin when I use this moisturiser. I actually have already repurchased this.

Ghost Perfume:- I absolutely love the smell of Ghost Perfume. I don’t normally buy it for myself, normally I get given it as a gift. I rarely go through perfume as I have quite a few different one’s. But I have finally gone through one and it is a fragrance that I will defiantly have again.

TRESemme Perfectly (Un)Done Shampoo:- I really liked this shampoo. It cleansed my scalp perfectly and I could just about go three day’s without having to wash my hair (which is a bonus as I am lazy with my hair). I also really liked the smell of it. I will defiantly be re-purchasing this shampoo soon.

Rimmel Match Perfection Highlight and Concealer:- I love this concealer to highlight under my eyes. I do have to use another concealer to hide my dark circles but this concealer does cover them up a little. I would highly recommend this concealer and will defiantly be re-purchasing it. I am also tempted to try out the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation now as I do really like the concealer.

Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm:- I always used Vaseline until one of my friends got me to use Carmex and I really like it. I also like how you don’t have to use your finger to apply it. You can either get the squeezy tube or the pot. I have already re-purchased another Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm.

July Favourite’s

I have re-discovered a foundation that I have had for quite a while. I used it a few weeks ago and loved it! Its the Bourjois City Radiance Foundation. I love how natural it looks on the skin, doesn’t feel sticky at all or like I have foundation on my skin. I normally don’t wear foundation because of how it feels on my skin, but this you can’t even feel it. I find my skin has such a gorgeous glow, you can build up the coverage but it still looking natural. It’s beautiful.

Recently, I have purchased the By Terry Ombre Blackstar. I got mine in the colour Frozen Quartz, its so beautiful. It glides onto the skin perfectly, doesn’t tug at your eye, so easy to blend out. All I do it apply this to my lid, blend it out with a big fluffy blending brush and thats it. Throughout the day it does not budge, no crease’s or anything. You don’t need to use a primer with this product either, which makes my life a little easier.

I thought I would try out a Sleek blush as I haven’t before. I know Sleek products are quite pigmented so I was a bit careful with it. But I love this colour, I got mine in Pomegranate, it is a bit darker to what I am used to but, its gorgeous on the skin and perfect for autumn.

I never used to use brow pencils because I didn’t like how it looked, but I thought I would try the Soap and Glory 2-in-1 Brow Pencil and Brush. Its so easy and I think it looks a lot more natural. The brush gets rid of any harsh lines which is perfect. I know a lot of people love the Anastasia Brow Wiz, I’ve never tried it but it seems to be a lot similar to the Soap and Glory one but a lot cheaper.

I have recently got a sample of the Benefit Gimme Brow for my brows and its really good. It just sets my brows in place of the whole day. I am definitely going to buy the full size of it.

I’ve always loved Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks. I find they last so well, they do fade slightly throughout the day but then every lipstick does. I absolutely love the colour’s ’01’ and ’30’. I always get compliment when I wear these lipsticks. I have unfortunately lost my ’30’ lipstick but I will be re-purchasing another one.

Kathleen Lights recommended a few e.l.f. brushes so I thought I would get some and try them out. I have never tried e.l.f. brushes before but I am really impressed. The brush I particularly love is the Small Tapered Brush, its perfect for setting your under eye powder and for conturing. I could never get the hang of contouring but with this brush makes it ten times easier.

Onto skin care, I got a sample of the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and I loved it so I got the full size. It leaves my skin feeling so clean and super smooth, without it being harsh. It says on the bottle ‘Cleanses and gently exfoliates for smoother, clearer skin’ and that is exactly what it does. Once a week I will use it with my Clarisonic and my skin has never felt better.
