Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018

Hello everyone! I did this blog last year and I thought I would do it again this year. In 2017 I managed to accomplish a lot of things. In March 2017 I got a new car, an Audi A3, which I have wanted for a long time. In June I moved out of my parents home and moved into a flat with my boyfriend. As well as travel to Edinburgh. Overall, I think 2017 has been a good exciting year for me. I did also get a new job in waitressing as well. Last year I said that I wanted to ‘move out, buy a new car, deal with money better, cook more food and travel’. Which I think I have accomplished nearly, if not all of them things.

In 2018 I have set myself 5 goals for the year. The first goal is to move out of our current flat into a house. I would still like to rent but I want a garden and my own front door, instead of an apartment block. Then, I could have my dog, Alfie, live with me again. The second goal is getting back into hairdressing. At the end of 2016 I left hairdressing and went into waitressing at the start of 2017. I try not to regret a lot of things but I do wish I didn’t leave hairdressing, just went into a different hair salon. The third goal is to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I don’t necessarily want to eat healthier, I just miss out on important meals of the day which I wish I didn’t. The fourth goal is to save more money. I do save money anyway I just want two separate savings. One for when I’m older and want to move to Australia and get married. Another one for going on holiday, new make up etc. The fifth and final goal of 2018 is to travel. I do normally travel anyway. But I definitely want to go to another place that I have never been to before. And they are all my five goals for the year. Also check out my youtube channel – hannahxoxoblog. I hope you had a lovely 2017, and an even better 2018. Bye!

Christmas Stocking Filler’s 2017

As Christmas is nearly here I thought I would share some quick and easy stocking fillers for your family and friends. Some of these are what I’m getting my family and friends as well. I’m going to share with you a couple for woman, a couple for men and a few unisex gift’s. Also check out my youtube channel hannahxoxoblog. I hope you enjoy!

Bath Gift Set:
I think a bath gift set is such a perfect, easy stocking filler. They aren’t that expensive and so many different brands do them. E.g. Body Shop, Lush, Baylis & Harding and so many more brands. The ones I picked are from Boots and one is a brand called ‘A Little Something’. Which has a body wash, body lotion, body butter and a fragrance mist within it. Another one I picked up was again from boots and the brand ‘Cath Kidson’. Which has a hand cream and lip balm within it.

Make Up Gift Set:
A make up gift set is perfect for anyone you know that loves make up. I think they are such a good idea as you can get little mini’s to try out new products and even new brands. The one I picked up is from Sleek. Inside is four Matte Me lip creams. Which I think is perfect has there is such a variety in colours.

Men Gift Set:
Again I think this is a perfect and easy stocking filler. I think it is similar to the women’s bath gift set, but mens products instead. Therefore, there are so many different brands and so many different price points. The ones I picked up are from Boots and its the brand ‘FCUK’. Inside is a hair & body wash and a body spray.

This stocking filler is for that handy man in your life. I picked this one up from the boots and its the brand ‘Gentlemen’s Hardware’. It’s a hammer, wire cutters, pilers, nail pull, saw blade, file, knife, flathead screwdriver, crosshead screwdriver and snippers all in one.

It’s such a simple and easy stocking filler but everyone needs sock’s. There are so many different ones out there. I picked some up from George in Asda and they were really inexpensive. I got some with different coloured reindeer’s on each pair. There are 5 pairs in a pack, and the pack was £6.

Jokey Games:
I think every stocking has to have something funny in it. Therefore a jokey game is perfect. Again there are so many different ones out there you just have to find them. The one I picked up was ‘Cards Against Humanity’. I think it’s just such funny game for adults and perfect for a stocking filler.

Gingerbread Cupcakes

As Christmas is just round the corner I thought I would bake some gingerbread cupcakes. Especially as everyone loves gingerbread at Christmas time. And I just love to bake. Also check out my youtube channel hannahxoxoblog. I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients for Cupcakes:
• 75g unsalted butter, softened
• 100g caster sugar
• 125ml black treacle
• 1 large egg
• 1 large egg yolk
• 175g plain flour
• 1 tbsp cocoa powder
• 1 1/4 tsp found ginger
• 1tsp ground cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp ground allspice
• 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 125ml hot milk
• cupcake cases
• gingerbread sprinkles

Ingredients for Buttercream Icing:
• 240g butter, softened
• 400g icing sugar, sieved
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 4 tbsp milk

1. Pre-heat oven to 175°C / 350°F / Gas mark 4
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
3. Then add the treacle, egg and egg yolk and mix.
4. In a separate bowl, sieve in the flour, cocoa powder, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and salt.
5. Add the flour mixture to the creamed butter mixture and stir until combined.
6. Carefully heat up the milk but be careful not to boil it, and the dissolve in the baking soda. Then add to the other mixture.
7. Line a muffin tin with cupcake cases and spoon the batter evenly into the cases. Bake for 20 minutes or until slightly springy to the touch.
8. While the cupcakes are cooling, you can make the buttercream: Cream the butter in a large bowl until smooth gradually adding the icing sugar and continue to cream until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and milk, and cream until combined.
9. Spoon the buttercream into a piping bag fitted with a large star nozzle. And pipe on the buttercream and top with gingerbread sprinkles.
10. Enjoy!

December Glossybox 2017

This month’s Glossybox is dedicated to mince pies, starry skies and the brand ‘Dusty Boy’. I love the packaging and the design of this month’s box. I think it looks so cool. It also come with a 20% discount off Dusty Boy and a Raffaello. Also check out my Youtube channel hannahxoxoblog. I hope you enjoy!

Naobay Equilibria Gel to Milk Cleanser:
I love using milk cleansers in the morning so I was very excited to see that I received this in my glossybox. It’s very weird how it works because as you add water to it, it changes constancy and colour. I will definitely continue to test it out though. The information card that comes inside the box say’s ‘This golden gel transforms into a softening cleansing milk on contact with water. With organic olive and sweet almond oils, skin left hydrated not tight’. This is a full size product and retails for £15.99

Laqa & Co Cloud Lips:
I’m always eager tot try out new lip products. Therefore, again I was excited to try this out. I haven’t heard of the brand either. The information card say’s ‘Encased in this rose-gold delight is one of the best matte lipsticks we’ve tried recently. The high-impact pigment feels as light as a cloud but stays put until the end of the party’. This is a full size product and retails for £12.70

Profusion Runway Eye Collection:
Again I haven’t heard of this brand before so I was excited to try it out and see how good the eyeshadows are. The information card say’s ‘Filled with six bendable eyeshadows, this is the perfect palette to smoke and smoulder with. Wear one eyeshadow alone, blend and contour with a couple or apply wet for an intense liner look’. This is a full size products and retails for £3.75

Steve Laurant Precision Tip Eyeliner:
I don’t normally wear eyeliner that much as I have hooded eyelids and I don’t think it suits me. But every now and then I love to wear eyeliner. Therefore, I am excited to try this out. I especially love the rose-gold packaging as well. The information card say’s ‘We’ll never get tired of a feline flick, but leave soot to Father Christmas! Its easy to create precise, intense black lines with this super fine liquid liner’. This is a full size product and retails for £18

Ecodenta Extra Black Whitening Toothpaste with Black Charcoal & Teavigo:
I have been wanted to try a product similar to this for a while now, and now I finally can. I can’t wait to try it out and see how well it works. The information card say’s ‘From masks to detox juice shots, charcoal is this year’s star ingredient. As well as purifying skin it’s a natural teeth whitener with anti-bacterial benefits, making it the perfect addition to your toothpaste’. This is a full size product and retails for £4.49

November Favourite’s 2017

It’s the start of a new month so time for me to share with you what I have been loving throughout November. Some of the things I have been loving is presents I got for my birthday as well. Also check out my youtube channel hannahxoxoblog. I hope you enjoy!

Urban Decay Naked Palette:
Casey got me this palette for my birthday and I was so pleased when I received it. I have been using it everyday since. I have wanted it for quite a while now as I am trying to collect the ‘naked’ palette’s. The packaging feels a really weird texture but it does definitely feel good quality. I love using this palette day-to-day and if I want to wear something a little more smoky than I can do with this palette. It definitely lived up to my expectation’s.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturiser:
I have loved this moisturiser for a while now. Especially since it’s getting into winter and my skin has been a little dryer than normal. I find it very light weight and not heavy and sticky on my skin which I really like. I would definitely recommend this moisturiser.

Lush Santa Baby Lip Scrub:
Again since its getting into winter my lips have been quite dry. So whenever I take my make up off and wash my face I will use this lip scrub to remove any dryness on my lips. And I have been loving it. My lips are so smooth and soft without even applying lip balm. I am not massive fan of the smell or taste but I don’t mind it. I love using this with my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream (which is another one of my favourites).

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream:
I got this last Christmas. I loved it last year and I have been loving it this year as well. It moisturises my lips so well and if leaves them feeling so smooth and soft. A lot of people love this product and I definitely do love this product as well.

Kawaii Cleansing Brush Egg:
I ave wanted one of these for a while now and I was so excited when I saw I received it in my Glossybox. I find it a lot easier to clean my make up brushes now. As well as more thorough. I love using this along side my blender cleanser. I now know my brushes are 100% clean after I have cleaned them. I would 100% recommend.

V.I.Poo Spray:
I have heard of this product for a while now and I thought it was such a smart and funny product. It’s a bit of a weird favourite but, when I was doing my weekly food shop I saw it in Asda so decided to pick it up. When I bought it I wasn’t it expected it too work that well. But it is fantastic. It is small enough to put into your handbag so if you are out in public or round someone else house you can go to the toilet without anyone knowing.

Our Girl:
Our girl was on tv recently and I watched the first and second season so of course I was watching the third season. I absolutely love ‘Our Girl’, I 100% recommend everyone to watch it. It’s one of those tv programmes that you just can’t stop watching. As soon as the episode ends you want to watch the next one. I will not spoil it for anyone but I was very sad (and crying) at the end of the season.
